The Gluon Exchange Model in Proton–Nucleus Collisions

We apply our recently formulated Gluon Exchange Model (GEM) to baryon production in proton-nucleus reactions involving N>1 proton-nucleon collisions. propose a description scheme for the process of soft color octet (gluon) exchange, based on assumption that probabilities form an effective diquark are equal all allowed pairs quarks. The latter can either from two valence, one valence and sea, or sea Consequently we calculate different configurations diquarks valence-valence, valence-sea sea-sea type. These appear depend number exchanged gluons, which results increasing stopping as function collisions nucleus. As such, nuclear power appears be governed by emergence new N rather than energy loss original diquark. advantage approach lies its high predictive makes it verifiable new, precise data proton neutron CERN SPS. verification, set predictions N-dependence process, included letter.
